From grade 9 to grade 12, students are provided with opportunities to improve and enhance their reading, writing, critical thinking, creative and communications skills.  Students explore a varitey of writing styles such as summaries, paragraphs, informative paragraphs, literary paragraphs, opinion pieces, literary essays, analytical essays, comparative essays, research essays, reports, news report/articles, and creative writing.  Students develop their oral communication skills through activities such as debates, informal discussions, role playing, mock interviews, seminars, and topic presentations.  For specific assignments, refer to the student's course outline and teacher.
